Our frontline workers are running low on face masks and other vital protective equipment, so we are appealing to anybody who can help.

Our social workers, care home staff and other key workers have what they need for now, but supplies are running low and aren’t being replaced from central government as they should.

We are appealing to any business, organisation, or individual which can supply this equipment to email us at: [email protected]

“The situation is causing concern,” said Cllr Charles Margetts, executive member for heath, wellbeing and adult services. “We have what we need for now and people receiving care from our staff are safe for the moment. But we need more. There is a real risk to life if frontline workers don’t have the protective clothing and equipment they need, so it’s vital we hear from anybody who can help.”

The most urgent need is face masks, but the full list of essential items is:
• Surgical masks IIR (fluid resistant)
• FFP3 Mask
• FFP2 Mask
• Coveralls / Gowns (disposable)
• Aprons (disposable)
• Gloves (disposable)
• Goggles
• Hand sanitiser
• Clinical Waste Bags
• Wipes (Pack)

“Please do get in touch,” said Cllr Margetts. “You might, quite literally, be saving people’s lives. We have also contacted our MPs to push for a resolution on this at the highest levels, and will continue to do so.”
